Extra Credit
Quarterly Film Writeup:
Once per quarter you can do an extra credit write up of a film, talk or other event that has to do with American history. See the website below for suggestions (while Chloe has seen many of the movies listed, she has not seen all of them – I recommend talking with Chloe and or your parents/guardians before viewing).
Reel American History is a great resource for finding movies related to American history by era or topic.
Now that I've watched a movie, what do I do?
Once you have finished the movie, your write up should consist of three components:
1. A brief summary of the movie.
2. An analysis of what aspects of the film were historically accurate or inaccurate (this is where you can do some research and impress me with all that you have learned about the topic ... thus, getting more points).
3. What you learned about history from the film, and any further questions you have after watching.
For maximum extra credit points type 1-2 pages, double-spaced and be clear and specific, citing sources as you use them (I once gave 15 points for a really thoughtful, well-researched write up, but I usually give up to 10).
