Useful Links for WritingMy two favorite sites for writing bibliographies are EasyBib and Son of Citation Machine. Keep in mind that I don't care whether you use APA, Chicago, MLA or Turabian, as long as you are consistent.

Useful Links for ResearchThe National Archives are probably the best resource available for primary sources from US History, and this page has a section dedicated to supporting research. If you already feel comfortable with research, here's the link to their search page for their digital archives. Digital History is a great place to get a feel for the decades you are researching – maneuver around the timeline to find the eras you want to study. If you'd like to get to know a president better, or need some good questions to ask about one from the era you are researching, the Presidential Timeline is a good place to learn about 20th Century US presidents. Check out this site if you are interested in the Civil Rights Movement or the politics of the 1960s. Make sure you scroll down to the menu on the left side of the page and click on the relevant unit. |
